The mission of the Homeless Children's Playtime Project (HCPP) is to nurture healthy child development and reduce the effects of trauma among children living in temporary housing programs in Washington, D.C. Through fourteen weekly children’s programs, staff and volunteers create safe play spaces for children from infants to teenagers at family shelters and transitional housing programs. Our trauma-informed programs seek to restore normalcy by providing opportunities for children to learn and heal through play, and empowering them to make choices, express themselves, relate to others, and find support.
HCPP seeks a volunteer to support our efforts with fundraising in the office during business hours, 5-10 hours per week. The Fundraising Volunteer will assist the Development Officer in implementing HCPP’s fundraising initiatives to enhance and promote the organization’s funding base.

- Process gift acknowledgements in a timely manner
- Assist Office Manager and Development Officer with Salesforce Database maintenance
- Provide support with planning fundraising and "friendraising" events
- Research prospective funders (individuals, foundations, corporations)

- Professional demeanor
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) is required
