High School Summer Internship (Multiple Nonprofits)

The six-week (180 hour) summer program is designed to help participants gain knowledge of nonprofit management through the following core competencies: direct service, philanthropy, advocacy, community organizing and social entrepreneurship.
At the end of the summer internship, each intern will receive a letter of completion reflecting their participation and completion of 180 hours of service to the Dallas community. Often, they will also recieve written reccomendations from their supervisor and, if appropriate, JFS staff.
Interns are chosen through a competitive process involving a written application and in-person interview. Students from all Dallas Metroplex high schools are invited to apply. Students are selected based on merit-without regard to religion, race, or ethnicity.

Description
JFS is a United Way service provider, serving just over 11,000 people a year. We help people regain self sufficiency through services including, but not limited to: Career and Employment, Family Violence Intervention, Financial Coaching, Mental Health counseling for all ages, services for Elderly or disabled, Meals on Wheels, Special Needs, Cancer Survivors, Veterans, and Emergency assistance in our on-site Food Pantry.
