FASD Day at the Capitol

The Minnesota Organization on Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (MOFAS) is looking for people who want to advocate for the disability community - specifically for the Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) community. We are having our FASD Day at the Captiol, on Tuesday, February 27, 2018. You can come learn about our legislative priorities, meet and talk to your legislators about our proposed bills, and engage with the community. You can learn more about the day itself on at http://bit.ly/2E7g4Z5.

Volunteers can:

  • help set up/tear down the event
  • walk participants to their meetings with their legislators
  • take photos and share them with MOFAS
If this sounds like something you're interested in, please contact Alexa McIndoe, communications coordinator, at 651-917-2370 or email at alexa@mofas.org.

Mission Statement

As MOFAS and now as Proof Alliance, our mission is to eliminate disability caused by alcohol consumption during pregnancy and to improve the quality of life for those living with fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASD) throughout Minnesota.

Description

MOFAS has been rebranded as Proof Alliance. Proof Alliance is a national leader in promoting awareness about the effects of prenatal alcohol exposure and advocacy for individuals and families impacted by fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASD). We’re expanding our influence by disseminating our signature programs nationally and creating an alliance of partners and experts in the field.

Since 1998, we have had a dual purpose: providing education on the impact of alcohol use during pregnancy, which can encompass a lifetime of physical, mental and behavioral disabilities, and championing efforts to enable individuals living with an FASD to reach their full potential. Proof Alliance works to eliminate birth defects caused by alcohol consumption during pregnancy and to improve the quality of life of the individuals and families affected by FASD by providing resources and support. By building partnerships and improving services, Proof Alliance generates awareness of the importance of alcohol-free pregnancies.
