ORGANIZATION: Old Dogs New Digs

Roxie

We are always in need of loving and caring people who are willing to open their homes and hearts to senior dogs in need! Foster parents provide temporary sanctuary for dogs, who are often coming from shelters and other stressful environments. As a foster parent, you are providing these pups with a warm place to lay their hands and a chance to relax while they wait for their forever homes. Old Dogs New Digs ensures that all medical needs are met, and we assist with food and dog supplies as needed.

We are specifically in need of loving foster homes in the York County region.

About Old Dogs New Digs

Location:

PO BOX 1058, Yarmouth, ME 04096, US

Mission Statement

Old Dogs New Digs works to get senior dogs out of Maine shelters and into loving foster and forever homes as quickly and safely as possible. We believe that every moment in an old dog’s life is precious and should be spent immersed in love and comfort.

Description

We work with shelters throughout Maine to identify senior dogs who have been surrendered, and we network through various means, especially through social media, to find just the right place for them.

In some cases, we help to prevent senior dogs from ever landing in shelters to begin with - sometimes, a family who has fallen on hard times might be unable to afford quality food and medical care for their aging dog, so we help find resources to support the dog’s needs, so s/he doesn’t have to leave the home that s/he knows and loves.
