About Us
X-Cel Education improves economic opportunity in underserved Greater Boston neighborhoods through accessible, individualized, and free high school equivalency education, post-secondary preparation, and career readiness development.
Our high school equivalency (HSE) and college prep classes have made a difference to more than 1000 students who have increased their reading and math levels by at least one grade level, earned a high school equivalency or enrolled in postsecondary education.
Among Boston programs, X-Cel ranks first for total number of HSE graduates for each of the past three years.
Our Goal
We want to maximize success for program participants. To do this, we need to measure, streamline and scale our program operations. At the moment we’re heavily reliant on paper and spreadsheets - which restricts our ability to track results and modify workflows.
We want to implement Salesforce for tracking participants, programs, attendance and intake results. We’re looking for a tech-savvy volunteer to help us reach the next level of performance.
Volunteer Opportunity
We’re seeking a tech-savvy volunteer to help translate our program into Salesforce.
This is a great opportunity to give back, challenge yourself and enhance your skills. You’ll work closely with the Executive Director, Program Committee and staff to collect requirements and design the right solution.

X-Cel, Inc. Adult Education was founded in 2000 by two adult educators with the vision of providing quality adult education services to residents of Greater Boston. X-Cel’s mission is to make high school completion and college-level study more accessible to low-income adults in Greater Boston, by providing flexible customized instruction at no cost in convenient community locations.
Try your hand at teaching. Join X-Cel for an evening of tutoring adults from all different cultures and levels of math proficiency. If you graduated from high school, you already have the knowledge to teach these eager-to-learn adults. No previous teaching experience necessary.
