Random Acts of Flowers (RAF) is seeking volunteers who will serve as ambassadors throughout Chicagoland by picking up floral donations or delivering flowers to healthcare facilities in RAF’s vans. RAF serves a radius of about 45 minutes surrounding our Evanston workshop. Opportunities available:
Floral Donation Pickups
RAF relies on the generosity of our floral partners who donate flowers that would otherwise be discarded. Volunteers are needed to drive their personal vehicle or RAF's Transit Connect van to pick up floral donations from wholesale florists, grocery stores, funeral homes, floral distributors or event venues. Some lifting/bending may be required.
Days and Times:
Mondays: 9am-12pm or 12pm-3pm
Wednesdays: 9am-12pm
Floral Deliveries
RAF delivers roughly 500 bouquets a week to people in area hospitals and nursing homes. Bouquets are packed into carts, which are then loaded into an RAF vans via an electronic lift. A volunteer is needed to help secure carts in the van and deliver carts to healthcare facilities. A group of RAF delivery volunteers will meet at the facility and help unload. The driver is welcome to join the delivery and distribute bouquets or can wait until the delivery is over. Some lifting/bending is required.
Days and Times (may change depending on location of facility):
Tuesdays: 12pm-3:30pm
Wednesdays: 1pm-3:30pm
Thursdays: 12:30pm-3:30pm
