Help Fight Hunger in Silicon Valley!
Volunteers are needed to help with monthly distributions at Second Harvest Food Bank's Produce Mobile sites. Produce Mobile provides food and educational programs to low-income families. This is a hands-on volunteer activity and does require some lifting and regular movement. Activities could include assisting with room set up, unloading and moving food inside a community room, bagging fresh produce, distributing food to clients, and clean up. This is a great chance for volunteers to interface with our clients.

Dependable and on time
Maintain safe working conditions and follow all safety rules
Professional conduct and responsibility
Helpful, but not required: speak Chinese, Tagalog, Russian, Vietnamese or Spanish
Must be 16 years of age or older
ADVANCE REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.

Mission Statement
Lead our community to ensure that anyone who needs a healthy meal can get one.
Description
Second Harvest of Silicon Valley is a private non-profit organization that collects and distributes more than 12 million pounds of food each month. We currently serve an average of over 500,000 individuals each month; 60% are low income families and 20% are seniors. By building collaborative networks, we efficiently distribute food by leveraging donations of money, food and human resources. But we cannot do it alone. We rely upon the energy and commitment of the local community to fight hunger. See more about our efforts at www.shfb.org.
