We are looking for experienced trainers in the Tewksbury Area.
Pets for Vets is dedicated to connecting shelter animals and Veterans as a way to improve the quality of life for both. Part of the process includes providing training for the shelter animal, to be sure we are giving this animal every chance to have a happy and health life.
We are looking for trainers with several years of experience who are willing to donate their time and expertise. The trainers work closely with the veteran and the shelter animal and are key in the transition from shelter to happily ever after.

To help heal the emotional wounds of military veterans by using the power of the human-animal bond to provide a second chance for shelter animals by rescuing, training, and pairing them with America's servicemen and women who could benefit from having a companion animal.
Description
The Pets for Vets program is dedicated to supporting veterans and providing a second chance for shelter pets by rescuing, training and pairing them with America ’s veterans who could benefit from a companion animal.
Our goal is to help heal the emotional wounds of military veterans by pairing them with a shelter dog that is specially selected to match his or her personalit y. Profession al animal trainers rehabilita te the dogs and teach them good manners to fit into the veteran’s lifestyle. Training may include desensitiz ation to wheel chairs or crutches, recognizin g panic or anxiety disorder behaviors, etc.
Needy shelter dogs receive a second chance at life while giving our returning troops a second chance at health and happiness. The bonds of friendship formed between man and animal have the power to ease the suffering of our troops when they return from overseas.
