Do you have a few spare hours in the day? Want to help victims go from crisis to recovery after domestic violence? This volunteer opportunity might be perfect for you!
Families to Freedom transports victims of domestic abuse to safety. This often means a short ride across Houston to get victims to a domestic violence shelter.
Weekday daytime volunteer drivers are in high demand!!
- You can choose to accept or decline a drive- no pressure!
- We arrange survivor pick-ups in a safe public place- usually in or near the Houston area
- Many of our survivors travel with children- we prepare car seats so you don't have to
- Families to Freedom provides the vehicle (or use your own) and covers all travel costs!
We need volunteers aged 21+ with a good driving record and clean criminal background.
Pick up domestic violence survivors from a safe pickup place (like a shelter store, or hospital), and drive them to a safe destination (like a shelter or a family member's home).
COVID-19: Masks, rubber gloves, and hand sanitizer available to help protect against the virus.

Mission Statement
Our mission is transport victims of domestic abuse to safety.
Description
Families to Freedom provides free transportation services to victims and their children who have experienced domestic abuse. We make it possible for victims and new survivors to get far away from abusive relationships. Our life-saving services include car rides to domestic violence shelters across the region, road trips to family homes in other states, multi-state bus tickets, and fuel assistance to relocate far away. We serve victims and new survivors across North Texas, East Texas, and the Gulf Coast area. We drive over 900 victims and children each year between two offices located in Dallas and Houston. We rely on the generous support of the community to continue providing these services at no cost to the victims who call us.
