ORGANIZATION: Minneapolis Adult Education

Tutor students once a week in (a) Fractions, decimals, and percents (6:00-7:25 pm) &/or (b) algebra and geometry (7:35-8:50 pm). The choice of days is MTWTh.

A licensed teacher conducts the class. Volunteer tutors and the teacher help students put the lessons to work.

Mission Statement

Help adults acquire the skills, and provide the support, to pursue education and employment goals.

Description

Minneapolis Adult Education provides free classes in ESL, reading, writing, math, basic computer skills, and transition to work and college. Classes are available in the morning, afternoon, and evening. We are part of Minneapolis Community Education, Minneapolis Public Schools.

Volunteers participate once an week, for an hour or more depending on the class. We ask for a commitment of 3 months. Service learning has a different minimum.
