ORGANIZATION: FOUNDATION FOR EDMONDS SCHOOL DISTRICT

Goal of the Food Pantry Driver: The Nourishing Network is looking for safe drivers to pick up food donations from our donation boxes located throughout the community, and to deliver it to our food pantry.

Volunteer Activities may include, but not limited to:

  • Pick up food donations and deliver to Nourishing Network pantry
  • Deliver bagged and binned food to participating schools

Qualifications:

  • Valid Washington state driver's license
  • Proof of current automobile insurance
  • Annual review of Washington Motor Vehicle Report
  • Successfully pass Washington state background check
  • Must be 21 years or older and been licensed two or more years
  • Clean driving record with no more than two moving violations or at-fault incidents over three years
  • Able to bend and lift approximately 50 lbs
  • Willing to make food pick up and deliveries as needed

Description

We are committed to enriching the lives of students within the Edmonds School District through our various programs such as providing weekend meals to homeless students, awarding college scholarships, providing low income students with laptops to bridge the digitial divide, helping teachers offset out of pocket costs for classroom supplies, and assisting high school students are college credits.

The Foundation wants to continue to achieve high level of academic achievement for ALL students by:

  • Helping a growing immigrant population to bridge communication, cultural and financial issues that impede academic growth
  • Creating a bridge for struggling students to have supports to achieve personal, academic and creative success
  • Creating a k-12 pathway for post-graduation career or college readiness

The Foundation will create a pathway to bridge support to fill the gap for ALL students who are not achieving at their highest levels.
