Participants of the Polar Plunge will run, walk, or dance into the chilly waters of Leadbetter Beach on
Saturday, April 21, 2018 to raise funds for Special Olympics Santa Barbara. A pancake breakfast will be served by the Santa Barbara County Firefighters, beach volleyball, games & music will be played, and groups of plungers will submerge into the chilly Pacific to help support Special Olympics Santa Barbara.

The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with an intellectual disability, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
Description
The Santa Barbara Special Olympics is a non-profit organization that allows people with developmental disabilites within the Santa Barbara community to participate in year-round athletic competition. We offer several sports that our athletes can participate in free of charge.
