On Thursday, March 2nd from 4:00-6:00 pm, families from the San Fernando Valley will bring their children to the library to celebrate Read Across America Day! Volunteers will read with children and make crafts themed to several Dr. Seuss books. Children will also be able to take a book home with them when they're all done!
Jumpstart recruits community volunteers to host these events all over Los Angeles - to read, make crafts with children, and celebrate the love of learning!
Volunteers range from all ages - but under 15 must volunteer with a parent. Volunteer groups are also welcome! Come have fun with us at the library!
If interested please e-mail jasmin.salas@jstart.org

About Jumpstart Southern California
Location:
1625 W Olympic Blvd. Ste. 1050, Los Angeles, CA 90015, US
Mission Statement
Jumpstart is working toward the day every child in America enters school prepared to succeed.
Description
Each year, one third of America's children arrive on their first day of school without the skills necessary to succeed at grade level. When children begin behind their peers, catching up, especially without additional assistance, is difficult and unlikely. By focusing on enriching the education of preschool students from disadvantaged communities, Jumpstart is making sure every child has a chance at success. Jumpstart is a national nonprofit dedicated to inspiring children to learn, adults to teach, families to get involved, and communities to progress together.
