The Providence YMCA Healthy Living Department is looking to engage more community members in getting fit, health and happy this year. One way they are looking to acheive this goal is by reaching out to members to schedule free fitness conciltations to assess their current health, and then work to set new fitness and health goals for the year. A phone volunteer would call members to encourage them to refocus thier priorties on taking care of their bodies and remind them to take advantage of the fitness programs and services offered to them through their Y membership.
It is unfortnate that so many people are not utilizing the Y's many programs/services when they are paying for a membership. The Y wants to get those people in the doors to get them involved with their programs and services to enhance their mental, social and physical wellbeing.
There is a lot of flexibility in this volunteer opportunity. We can work around your schedule. Even one evening a week for an hour would be extremely helpful since more people at home during th evening hours.
