Looking for an opportunity in 2017 to give back to your community? Consider joining the volunteers and staff at the Centreville Labor Resource Center, a project of the Centreville Immigration Forum.
CLRC provides a safe, organized place for day laborers to wait and negotiate with potential employers (contractors, homeowners, businesses). CLRC also provides training and education to increase workers' job opportunities and quality of life.
We'd love to tell you more about the programs and projects at the Labor Resource Center. Please join us for an information session and new volunteer orientation on Tuesday, March 14 at 7:30 PM. We are in the Centreville Crest Shopping Center, facing the intersection of US-28 (Centreville Road) and US-29 (Lee Hwy). All are welcome, bring a friend!
A few of our current volunteer opportunities include
bilingual volunteers to help with the daily operations of the center,
someone with experience with Salesforce to help organize our data
creative people to help design, layout and publish a quarterly newsletter and other communications
special events planners
someone to work with our women's group on beginning sewing skills
We'd love to work with you to find out how your talents, interests and experience match our vision.

Mission Statement
The mission of the Centreville Immigration Forum (CIF) is to implement sustainable programs that provide immigrants in need with the means to improve their lives and become more integrated into the community; improve communication and cooperation among groups serving immigrants; and build community recognition of our strength in diversity. All of our programs include workers in leadership and decision-making and support the self-sufficiency of low-income immigrants.
Description
The Centreville Labor Resource Center (CLRC), a safe place where CLRC members and employers meet to discuss fair wages and terms of employment. As a nonprofit, we are not interested in profits, but rather in maximizing our impact on the community. We work to provide community members with the work opportunities that allow members to be financially independent and to sustain themselves and their families as cost of living continues to rise.
In addition to the facilitation of employment agreements, the CLRC provides skills training, English classes, other educational opportunities, and referral and other services to members.
The Centreville Commission for Labor Justice was formed to fight, prevent, and ultimately end wage theft in the greater Centreville area. The commission is a project of the Centreville Immigration Forum, led by a Committee of workers, volunteers, small business owners and CIF staff. The CCLJ complements the work of the Centreville Labor Resource Center by assisting community members in negotiating with employers who have refused to pay their wages owed.
