Welcome! The Georgia Chapter of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation was established in 2014 when the 31-year-old Brain Tumor Foundation for Children united with the PBTF to create a louder voice and greater impact for the children served by both organizations. The PBTF-GA is proud to be the first of many chapters that the PBTF will establish around the country to help cure the kids, our Stars.

Position summary:

The Media Lead assists in the planning and implementation of the Starry Night event with a focus on obtaining media coverage and distributing marketing materials.

Major Responsibilities:

* Work with PBTF communications staff to obtain and secure Starry Night media sponsor and coverage in web, print, radio and TV outlets

* Help create social media plan for event

* Add Starry Night event information to community calendars & web postings

* Secure day of event media coverage (TV and/or radio)

* Secure day of event volunteer photographer and videographer

* Coordinate marketing material distribution throughout the community

* Coordinate and attend volunteer recruitment events

* Attend monthly Starry Night volunteer Committee meetings and provide updates to Secretary and Committee Chair

* Promote Starry Night through daily professional activities

* Attend and provide volunteer leadership at Starry Night

Time Required (approximately) per month:

  • Attend volunteer Committee meeting (1) 2 hours
  • Coordinate media volunteers 9 hours
  • Track community outreach progress and complete tasks 4 hours
  • Provide correspondence to Chair, Secretary and PBTF staff 1 hour
  • Total: 16 hours per month
  • Additional time requirements: One initial planning meeting with Committee Chair 1 hour
