As a grant writing intern for SOTAM Futbol Academy, your primary responsibility will be to assist with the identification of appropriate grantors and the execution and submission of grant requests. S.O.T.A.M. is a newcomer to the grant-writing process. In order to continue this work, we need interns capable of researching funding opportunities within fixed guidelines, initiating and maintaining contact with foundations and writing grants for eligible funding. This would require an intern with strong research, writing and analytical skills. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
Prospect identification, research, proposal development and writing in conjunction with faculty, staff and volunteers. Accurate and timely production of final proposals
Initiate and maintain relationships with grantors. Track and document communications
Assist with updating and maintaining S.O.T.A.M. donor database
Research potential major donor prospects
Assist with donor outreach and cultivation

Mission Statement
To provide a fun, competitive, learning environment through which students reach their own personal goals.
Description
SOTAM Futbol Academy is a Christian-based Soccer Academy that provides educational programs while teaching the game of soccer to urban underserved children in the DMV area. We are looking to provide an athletic experience to these children that would otherwise not have the opportunity. One of our main goals is to provide a safe, friendly environment where each individual child is working towards their own potential- both as a student and as an athlete.
We also provide youth guidance through the sport by having college age students participate as our assistant coaches under our head coach thus promoting generational mentoring. SOTAMFA stresses the value of relationships, teamwork and discipline while working toward a common goal of learning the sport of soccer. We have a Studybol program once a week where the children are to bring their homework or something to read before practice for an hour.
