March 2nd is Dr. Seuss’ birthday and every school in Milwaukee Public Schools is throwing a reading party to celebrate! Join us on March 2, 2017 at your favorite MPS school and be part of the fun during Read Across America!
In elementary schools, volunteers will be reading a book, or maybe two if you’re lucky, to a classroom of eager students who are aspiring readers. If you volunteer in a middle or high school, you’ll work with students on a brief literacy project. Schools will host volunteers at either 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. or 9:30 - 10:30 a.m.
Please volunteer to make sure every classroom and every child in MPS have a positive literacy experience during Read Across America. It’s a great way to help build the love of reading in our students and to celebrate the joy reading brings to you.
