Teenage and adult volunteers needed to refurbish computers. No experience necessary. Training will be provided.
If you are interested in volunteering at our center, please fill out our form at computersfortheblind.net/donatetime.php before you come so we have your information on file. However, you do not need to wait for us to set up a time or shift for you to volunteer. Come in as soon as you can, and we will get you started!
Our volunteers wipe the hard drives clean, replace missing and broken parts and install screen reader software that convert the text to speech and/or screen magnification software that enlarges everything on the screen.
Monday Noon to 8 pm
Tuesday Noon to 6 pm
Wednesday: Noon to 6 pm
Thursday: Noon to 6 pm
Saturday: 10 am to 4 pm.
Great opportunity for youth needing service hours for the National Honor Society and similar programs. Perfect for resume' building.

The mission of Computers for the Blind (CFTB) is to open the world of information technology to persons who are blind or visually impaired by providing computer equipment, software and training.
Computers for the Blind provides refurbished computers to persons who are blind or visually impaired who would otherwise not be able to obtain one. These computers are donated by individuals and businesses in the DFW area. Volunteers wipe the hard drives clean, and refurbish the computers and install the software that make them accessible to persons who are blind or low vision.
