The Houston Chapter of Achilles International is partnering with the City of Houston to bring a weekly lunch-time walking program to its disabled residents.
We will meet every Thursday at the MMSC at 1475 West Gray at noon to walk with everyone. There is a track on the facility. Many of the walkers will be blind and will need a guide to walk with them. Others just need encouragement and support.
You do not need any special skills, just simply the desire to help others get healthy and active!
As a "goal" all of the walkers and volunteers are invited to a 5k in late April called the Brew Run.
The MMSC (Metropolitan Multi Sport Complex) is a City of Houston facility specific for helping improve sport and athletic access by those with disabilities
