ChickTech Portland is looking for a volunteer coordinator to work alongside the current volunteer coordinator to manage and recruit new volunteers!
Key Responsibilities:
- Communicate with team leads about their volunteer needs, and recruit in accordance with these
- Coordinate volunteers for monthly ChickTech workshops
- Meet in person with incoming volunteers before they are officially placed and onboarded to talk about what ChickTech does as an organization, and help them find their perfect fit within the org.
- Create posts on VolunteerMatch and SignUp, and manage volunteer email lists via MailChimp.
- Facilite background checks for incoming volunteers (via a third party online service)

ChickTech is dedicated to retaining women and non-binary people in the technology workforce and increasing the number of people of marginalized genders pursuing technology-based careers.
Description
ChickTech is a multi-generational community helping each other become technology creators. We facilitate hands-on technology-centric events and mentorship to empower, support, and increase the confidence of girls, women, and non-binary folks. Through our programs, we build community, empower participants to see themselves as leaders, and provide networking and mentoring opportunities in the rapidly growing tech industry.
As a mostly volunteer-run non-profit, we are always searching for partners who would like to get involved through donations of expertise, volunteer time, in-kind, funding, or just by helping to get the word out.
