A Director of Finance who wants to join our growing Executive Team!

At 5Kilobytes, we are looking for the right person to help us lead the strategic vision to all aspects of the budget, finance, and management of the Company. Think you might have what it takes? Keep reading!

You are a successful finance executive, but you want to work for a company that is solving real-world problems - one that gives back to the community and supports the leaders of tomorrow. What you will do:

• Lead, and be responsible for, the strategic vision to all aspects of the budget, finance, and management of the Company

• Oversee all financial aspects, including, but not limited to:

• Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Purchasing

• Budget planning, internal auditing, financial reporting, financial analysis

• Contract management, payroll processing, etc.

• The design and implementation of proper financial controls to ensure financial integrity is maintained at all times

• As the source of financial expertise, proactively suggest best practices to improve the financial viability of the Company and be the primary financial consultant and advisor to the Board and Senior Leadership Team

• Ensure that the Company is fully prepared to meet government financial reporting criteria

• Hold the role of Company Secretary and/or Treasurer, if vacant

• Other duties as assigned

What you have:

• Education You possess a recognized professional accounting designation, such as a CMA, CGA, CFA, or CPA.

• Experience You bring a minimum of 3 years of full cycle accounting experience, including:

• previous experience in a similar role in another company

• expertise in budget planning, financial management and control, as well as administration of budget and financial resources

• the application of sound financial principles and practices

• overseeing the payroll function

• a strong understanding of governmental financial reporting criteria

• sound knowledge of IFRS and experience implementing controls and best practices

• Communication Skills You are an expert communicator, with advanced verbal and written English communication skills. You are the perfect person to break down complex financial concepts into an easy-to-understand format for consumption organization-wide; and have the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.

• Technical Skills Technology is your secret weapon and how you get things done. You have sound knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite or G-Suite of applications, and expert-level proficiency within various accounting software packages and spreadsheets.

• Motivation and Drive You set your mind to something and you let nothing get in your way of achieving it. You are a self-starter with a high degree of initiative that allows you to create efficiencies in your own work processes, as well as those of your team members.

• Consultative You have demonstrated the ability to build relationships and effectively work with and influence others in a virtual capacity, solving problems and improving efficiencies in a creative manner. Out-of-the-box thinking is your specialty.

You have outstanding presentation skills. Your consultative approach in meetings gains the trust of those listening to you.

• Passion You are genuinely interested in the objectives of the organization, new ideas and new technology. You want to change an industry, one person at a time.
