Goatlandia Farm Animal Sanctuary: Our mission is four-fold-1) to rescue farm animals and create a safe, loving home for them; 2) to inspire love and appreciation for animals by providing an opportunity for people to meet and interact with the animals; 3) to promote and inspire an eco-vegan lifestyle as a way to heal the planet, our bodies, our conscience and communities; and 4) to be a place for people to experience compassion, have fun and do cool things together.J
Job Description:
Working closely with the Executive Director, the Tech Volunteer will provide:
Basic understanding and assistance with computer technology- printers, wireless, computers-MAC and PC.
Basic understanding of software - and can help executive director with choosing data bases, social media and apps.
General technical assistance to help create and manage software and computer technology, etc.
When necessary, work closely with the Social Media, PR & Marketing Volunteer and social media consultant in order to create seamless technical-software changes.
Time commitment: Minimum 6 month commitment; up to 5 hours per week.
Frequency of commitment: Weekly to Monthly
Expected time on day of activity: Will vary, depending on each day.
Prerequisites/Necessary Skills:
1. Prefer tech professional who has experience with the above applications.
2. Be professional in demeanor with friendly communication skills.
3. Have deep compassion for farm animals.

Description
Work in the classroom under the direction of the teacher helping students with reading and/or math. This requires a commitment of 1 hr./wk for a school semester. Volunteers must be fingerprinted.
The Literacy Connection Academic Mentor program has just completed 12 years of recruiting, training, and preparing volunteers to go into the classrooms of Sonoma County K-12 schools. This year 250 volunteers worked in 30 different schools helping students in the regular classroom and in the after-school programs. One-on-one help is sometimes the only way that students who are also learning English as a second language can do their work. Sometimes the student has experienced so much failure in his school life that he is reluctant to participate in class activities. He has lost self esteem. Volunteer helpers give that student a no-risk opportunity to experience success - even one word at a time.
