ORGANIZATION: Jersey Cares

Become a Summer Seasons of Service Project Coordinator with Jersey Cares this June! Come participate in a 10-week leadership program and build your leadership, communication and project management skills. Project Coordinators (PC's), volunteer in a leadership capacity at our volunteer opportunities and provide organization and a team atmosphere for every volunteer experience.

Project Coordinators (or PCs) provide leadership in Jersey Cares’ recurring volunteer opportunities by serving as a liaison between volunteers, nonprofit partners, and Jersey Cares. They encourage volunteers to "Be the Change" and provide directions during projects. It’s a fun learning opportunity where you get to network with nonprofits and other community leaders while being supported by a cohort of other volunteer leaders. Typically, Project Coordinators commit to 1+ projects per month for 6 months at a time, but the Seasons of Service Program is an accelerated course in a sense. Instead of 6 months, Seasons of Service Project Coordinators take on 10 weeks (though you may certainly continue as a Project Coordinator after that time), and have a chance to work more intimately with their peers; discussions and team-building are encouraged during Seasons of Service.

Mission Statement

As a leader in volunteerism in New Jersey, Jersey Cares increases the level of meaningful volunteer engagement by creating and managing efficient, impactful projects that address critical community-identified needs.

Description

Jersey Cares works to meet community needs by making volunteering easy and meaningful. We provide flexible, structured, team-based opportunities for volunteers to impact a variety of nonprofit organizations and bring positive change to local communities. Jersey Cares works directly with local organizations to identify their needs, and trains volunteer leaders to manage projects that address those needs. Most projects are ongoing, and volunteers (other than the Project Coordinators) commit to only one day at a time. All of this enables you to volunteer whenever and however fits your interests and schedule, and yet always make a real difference. Simply choose "Volunteer" from the left menu to get started on your volunteering adventure!
