We need volunteers to help our leadership teams with events throughout the year. As the Director you would be responsible for ensuring all events meet and follow specific guidelines and rules. Training is provided and guidance from the Girl Scout Council is available as well as local support.
Responsibilities would be:
Organize at least 6 events throughout the Girl Scout year - August to May. You can lead those events or recruit others to do events.
Ensure all events are reported to the Council Program team six weeks from date of event and any extra insurance obtained if needed. (we have an online form process)
Facebook group and emails are updated with events in a timely manner and deadlines are respected.
Make sure event has surveys completed and final report (again online form) is submitted within 2 weeks of event end date.
Report to Service Area Leadership Team monthly
There is a planning meeting in May 2017 to discuss the following year's schedule.

Mission Statement
Girl Scout Mission Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.
Description
Girl Scouts unleashes the G.I.R.L. (Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, Leader) (tm) in every girl, preparing her for a lifetime of leadership-from taking a night-time hike under the stars to accepting a mission on the International Space Station; from lobbying the city council with her troop to holding a seat in Congress; from running her own cookie business today to tackling cybersecurity tomorrow.
Our Girl Scout Leadership Experience is a one-of-a-kind leadership development program for girls, with proven results. It is based on time-tested methods and research-backed programming that help girls take the lead-in their own lives and in the world.
Research shows that girls learn best in an all-girl, girl-led, and girl-friendly environment. Girl Scouts is a place where she’ll practice different skills, explore her potential, take on leadership positions-and even feel allowed to fail, dust herself off, get up, and try again. The inclusive, all-female environment of a Girl Scout troop creates a safe space where girls can try new things, develop a range of skills, take on leadership roles, and just be themselves.
