ORGANIZATION: National Center for Creative Aging

The National Center for Creative Aging (NCCA) seeks a volunteer to help the advancement of NCCA's mission & vision. The volunteer should be willing to work up to a minimum four hours each week.

Responsibilities include:

  • Monitor legislative activity on Capitol Hill
  • Assist NCCA team in all aspects of planning Arts Advocacy Day, which includes arranging Capitol Hill visits and updating schedules
  • Create, maintain and update materials for Congressional visits and government relations database
  • Perform legislative research
  • Assist with the development of online advocacy tools
  • Draft communications and perform outreach to creative aging community
Qualified candidates will meet the minimum requirements:
  • An understanding of NCCA's mission
  • Consistent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Candidate must also be reliable and punctual.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and proofreading experience
  • Proactive ability to juggle multiple tasks, manage priorities and time well, and collaborate with others on projects
  • Familiarity with social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
  • Positive and professional demeanor and a flexible, can-do attitude
  • Curiosity and a sense of humor and fun

Additional preferred, but not required skills and qualities:

  • Enjoys creating and improving procedures and systems
  • Experience using email marketing (mailchimp)
  • Working experience with WordPress and Adobe
  • Have a strong interest in the political process
