The Community Casework Department of Lake County in Waukegan, is in need of a volunteer to take charge of labeling, filing and manageing our casework files. The volunteer would come in on a consistent day for 1-2 hours once a week. The ideal candidate would be organized and comfortable using a computer.
The Community Casework Department is responsible for a variety of programs that serve those in need without regard to religious, ethnic or economical background. The larger programs include:
- Emergency Assistance which provides food, shelter, rental, and utility assistance as well as crisis case management services.
- Family Self-Sufficiency which assists low-income, single parents with maintaining stable housing and obtaining the education, training, and employment services they need to achieve independence.
- HIV/AIDS Case Management which provides mental health counseling, supportive and substance use disorder services, transportation, and food pantry services to those living with HIV/AIDS.
- Critical Time Intervention-Representative Payee (CTI-RP) Program which provides intensive housing case management services to the chronically homeless population.
These programs work with some of our most needy clients where accurate record keeping is extremely important.
