To all our followers (please share), Pets For Vets LA is looking for fosters to help during our matching process. We are in need of volunteers who are willing and capable of taking care of the animals (at the moment, dogs) that will be paired with our Veterans. A foster will be responsible for the care of the animal for 6-8 week period while the dog is in training. Fosters will be required to feed, walk, exercise and care for the overall wellbeing of the dogs during the period. Fosters will also need to continue with some basic positive training requirements to make sure the dogs are ready for the Veteran (no formal training experience is required). Fosters will also need to transport the dogs to and from the bi-weekly/weekly training. If you're interested, please send us a message. Thank you all for your support.

Mission Statement
The Pets for Vets program is dedicated to supporting veterans and providing a second chance for shelter pets by rescuing, training and pairing them with America’s veterans who could benefit from a companion animal.
Description
At Pets for Vets, we believe our country owes military veterans a debt of gratitude. Our soldiers have been brave but many of them have returned with physical and emotional injuries that have made it difficult to transition back to civilian life. Some estimates state that as many as 20% of returning military veterans suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
