Food & Friends is looking a weekly volunteer in our Groceries to Go department working with Charles our Grocery Manager leveraging volunteer groups and packing groceries for our clients.
This position, Groceries to Go Assistant, is from 8AM-12PM weekdays Tuesday-Friday.
The Groceries to Go Assistant is responsible for helping the Grocery Manager manage volunteer groups of all ages and backgrounds, and delegating tasks to volunteers to help package client’s meals. Must be comfortable speaking in front of large groups, and have some customer service skills. This position does require some heavy lifting (no more than 40lbs), and you will be on your feet.
This is a fun, music filled, team environment, and we hope that you and join us! We would love to have a commitment of at least 4 months once a week, and you can pick the day of your preference.

The mission of Food & Friends is to foster a community caring for men, women, and children living with HIV/AIDS, cancer, and other life-challenging illnesses by preparing and delivering specialized meals and groceries in conjunction with nutrition counseling.
Description
Food & Friends is the ONLY organization in the region providing home-delivered meals and groceries to children and adults battling HIV/AIDS, cancer and other life-challenging illnesses. Six days a week, our clients receive meals that are nutritionally specialized to meet their individual health needs. Our services are free of charge and based solely on the health status of those in need. With the help of more than 10,000 volunteers and thousands of generous donors, more than 1.2 million meals are delivered each year.
