History Day is a theme-based research program that breathes life into California Content standards and reading/language arts themes. The broad theme for 2022-23 is Frontiers in History. The program is designed to be used in the classroom at two levels: process and competitive. All children can develop their potential and develop essential reading, writing and research skills through participation in National History Day - Tulare County.
On February 7,2023 Tulare County students in grades 4-12 will represent their districts by entering their projects in the National History Day - Tulare County competition.
For this event, we are looking for volunteers to serve as judges and/or general event assistance. As an NHD Judge, you will be needed to do one of the following jobs; evaluate historical papers, website designs, exhibits, posters, documentaries, performances and to interview the student competitors. All judges attend a brief orientation on the morning of the event. As a general event volunteer, you will assist as a room or hall monitor. Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided.
Volunteers for this event will be asked to adhere to the state and county safety guidelines, which may include providing proof of vaccination or the option to test onsite the day of the event.
If you are available, please fill out the online volunteer form located at http://bit.ly/NHDTCJudges and more information will be sent to you prior to competition.
