Looking for volunteers that love children and food and summer!

Each summer, Mid Coast Hunger Prevention Program partners with local community partners in Brunswick, Topsham, Richmond, Lisbon, and Harpswell to bring free, healthy, nutritious meals to children Monday through Friday. In our fight against food insecurity we are working with nationwide programs to feed our most vulnerable and important population - children!

About 1 in 4 children in Maine are food insecure and being out of school means no school meals. The Summer Food Service Program is a federal program that provides meals to children during the summer since they are not receiving meals in school. MCHPP is a local sponsor of the Summer Food Service Program that collects, prepares, and distributes meals to children.

Our Summer Food Service Champions are volunteers with flexible skills to do program outreach, community engagement, meal preparation, site supervision, and more! We are looking for any help - a little or a lot. This is a chance to get involved in the community and make a difference in the lives of children through food and nutrition education. Summer is here and we are waiting for you!

Join us in the fight against child hunger!
