How do I become a volunteer at Methodist Charlton Medical Center?
If you have the heart to volunteer, we invite you to contribute your special talents to our volunteer service program. Here are the steps:
APPLY You may apply online at methodisthealthsystem.org/volunteer or paper applications are available in the Volunteer Services office or at the Main Information Desk.
BACKGROUND CHECK All prospective volunteers must be willing to include their social security number, birth date as well as current and former address(s).
INTERVIEW During the interview a variety of volunteer positions will be discussed.
HEALTH SCREENING New volunteers must complete a medical screening (which includes tuberculosis screening, flu shot (seasonal) and immunization records review by the Employee Health Nurse. Additional immunizations may be required. The medical screening will be provided at no charge to you.
NEW VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION All new volunteers must attend a 3 1/2 hour new volunteer orientation session. Volunteers will also receive training respective to the area in which they will be volunteering.
COMMITMENT We ask our volunteers to serve a minimum of 40 hours over the course of three months. Typically, a volunteer agrees to come in once a week for a 3-5 hour shift. Shifts are from 8a - 1p, 1p - 5p and 5p - 8p.
