Volunteer to provide valuable service to Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD)

Thank you for taking the time to read and respond to Mothers Against Drunk Driving.

We are looking for volunteers with leadership abilities to drive the success of our brand new Williamsport Walk Like MADD event under the direction of our volunteer team and Walk Chair.

We ask you to express your inital interest with us at this time, understanding we are looking for individuals to be involved from now until the event on October 14th.

First some background for you:

Walk Like MADD is the only large scale, community based activity that allows those impacted by impaired drivers to take steps to stop impaired driving in their community. It is a platform for victims and survivors to turn their pain into purpose.

Walk Like MADD events bring together victims, survivors, volunteers and community partners, to remember those killed, injured or emotionally devestated by drunk driving and drugged driving; to inspire those who may feel helpless or lost; and to commit to a future of No More Victims.

In 2017 there will be 4 such events in Pennsylvania. This is the inagural year for our Williamsport event.

Will you step up and help us take this event to the next level?

Funds raised through this event allows local volunteers and staff to:

*Provide emotional support and services for victims and survivors of drunk driving and drugged driving at no charge
*Conduct awareness and research based prevention programs to stop impaired driving and prevent underage drinking
*Support the heroes in law enforcement who work to keep our roads safe
*Work with State and local legisltators to adopt tougher laws, including requiring ignition interlocks for all DUI offenders.

If you reside within 25 miles of Williamsport please initially follow the links on this page to contact Mothers Against Drunk Driving - OR

email Malcolm.Friend@madd.org directly.

We ask you include a daytime phone number and any other relevant information you wish to share with us why this assignment is important to you.

Following an initial phone call from MADD, we will schedule a meeting with all volunteers to discuss next steps.

Thank you for considering this opportunity.

Mission Statement

Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) has a new five year agenda to advance and achieve our mission and is dedicated to saving more lives and supporting more victims. This strategic direction moves us further down the road to fulfilling our ultimate goal: No More Victims.

Our new vision is a nation without drunk and drugged driving

Our new mission is to end drunk driving, help fight drugged driving, support the vicims of these violent crimes and prevent underage drinking.

To achieve this we need YOUR help, and that of many volunteers in the Greater Philadelphia area... and indeed across the nation.

Description

MADD was founded in 1980 by a small group of women who gathered together for one reason: each one had lost a child because of a drunk driver. Today, it is the largest crime victims' assistance organization in the world with more than 3 million members and supporters. MADD is more than just moms. It is also dads, students, victims and concerned citizens of all ages making a difference where we live and work.
