The Courier will provide messenger and delivery service within the hospital between the supply/service departments and the nursing stations.

1. The Courier will make regular rounds to their service units to pick up specimens for delivery to the laboratory for processing.
2. Supplies are to be picked up and delivered from Central Supply to the specified serving units. Used equipment is to be returned to Central Supply.
3. As required, the Courier will deliver medical records and admissions forms to and from the designated nursing stations.
4. There are blue plastic Courier boxes at each nursing station. The Courier will pick up all items in these boxes for delivery to the proper area.
5. Related duties should be carried out when requested by the nursing personnel.

Other requirements:

1. Courier service requires the Courier to walk during the shift. The ability to deliver and return bulky equipment is a requirement.
2. The Courier should respond to STAT calls as soon as possible and be flexible in revising schedules to accomplish all tasks.
3. The Courier should be courteous at all times.
4. Each Courier Volunteer must be reliable and conscientious in fulfilling commitment of day and time.
5. The Courier Volunteer makes every effort to arrange for a substitute Courier when unable to report. (A list of substitutes will be supplied).
6. Couriers must exercise discretion and keep in strict confidence any information concerning patients or matters relating to hospital operations.

Openings are:

Mondays, Tuesdays or Fridays 9am-12

or

Thursdays from either 9-12 or 12-3

(Must be atleast 18 years old)
