The Wellspring Center for Prevention is a non-profit, community-based health organization providing prevention, education, information, and referral services to county residents, businesses, schools, faith-based organizations, municipal alliances, and social service agencies since 1980. Our mission is to promote the health and well-being of individuals, families, and communities through the prevention of addiction-related problems across the lifespan.

Our agency is seeking an individual who will take over our Acts of Prevention Program. Acts of Prevention is a unique and exciting program developed in response to the changing needs of our youth. It is based upon a collaborative relationship between the creative arts and prevention. Acts of Prevention is comprised of young college age actors that deliver several different topic driven scripts to Middle and High School students. Through their various monologues, they discuss important and relevant subject matter that deals with hardships, stress, social issues, bullying, illness and more.

We are looking for an individual who will recruit actors, train them on the current crop of scripts, and promote the program to area schools, schedule performances, and possibly work to develop additional scripts designed to meet the educational needs of area students.

This starts off as a volunteer opportunity that is likely to turn into a consultant position with Wellspring.
