  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.

Kinship is hosting a Gala in early fall (date to be determined yet) to bring about awareness of the need for mentors. We would like to host a breakfast or luncheon in a downtown location and would like someone who loves to work magic with making a classy gala that will move peoples hearts to step forward to mentor a child or help support mentoring financially. If you have the skills and artistic flair to help us this event please call Penny at 763-862-6755.

About Kinship Greater Twin Cities

Location:

1100 East Lake Street, Minneapolis, MN 55407, US

Mission Statement

Kinship Greater Twin Cities believes that every young person needs a role model. Kinship youth are matched with community mentors who foster supportive, holistic, and authentic relationships. Mentors and mentees are carefully matched based on common interests, aspirations and, when desired, faith connections. Kinship believes that the mentoring relationship is a mutually beneficial opportunity for all parties to grow. Kinship commits to providing resources and opportunities for youth and their families throughout the greater Twin Cities.

Description

Kinship actively invites individuals, couples and families into mentoring relationships with boys and girls ages 5-15. Focused on building lasting friendships through fun activities and quality time, the mentoring program creates sustained, supportive connections capable of giving youth the life skills they need to succeed. Kinship's mentoring model requires mentors to spend 2-4 hours per week with their mentee and are encouraged to participate in community events and activities centered around the youth's interests. Discovering new experiences together is also encouraged, opening the door for academic, social, and emotional growth. Life skills and work preparedness are also essential to our mentoring model, as well as optimism for the future and healthy living.
