We are currently accepting applications for volunteers at our two locations -- The Hemingway Birthplace Home and The Hemingway Museum. Ongoing volunteer needs include - Giving tours of the birthplace home - Greeting visitors at both locations - Assisting with gift shop purchases - Supporting our special events
One-on-one training is provided for these activities. We ask our volunteers to commit to a four-hour shift each month. An interest in or knowledge of Hemingway’s work is a plus, but not required.

The Ernest Hemingway Foundation of Oak Park fosters understanding of the life and work of Ernest Hemingway, with emphasis on his Oak Park origins and his impact on world literature. This mission reflects the Foundation's belief in the importance of the written word and the value of thoughtful reading and writing.
Description
The Hemingway Foundation operates the Hemingway Birthplace Home in Oak Park, Ill. Tours are provided Wednesday through Sunday. We also sponsor cultural and educational programming throughout the year, including book lectures and writing workshops, Hemingway's Birthday Celebration, and other special events.
