Maintenance folks are needed every weekend to help take care of the sanctuary and to help keep our animals safe. Elmira's has a number of animals, including, but not limited to, tigers, bears, lemurs, wolves, birds, etc. We need your help ensuring cages are safe, the sanctuary grounds are kept up, and future projects are developed! You might be asked to add soil to cages, do routine maintenance on a mower, light electrical/plumbing work, fix an enclosure...the projects are endless. Not sure you have the right skills? We have folks ready to teach and help you grow your own abilities. Additionally, we're always more than happy to hear how we can enhance the sanctuary and learn how you can help us achieve those goals!
When you leave for the day, you will be hot, sweaty, dirty, exhausted, and exhilarated that you have played an instrumental part in the lives of these beautiful animals. Your sweat equity will make a positive difference in these animals lives.
This position requires a commitment of at least 2 days (6-8 hour days) per month. We are happy to work around your schedule.
