ORGANIZATION: ARTISTS ROCK THE MIC FOUNDATION

Artists Rock the MIC

Our organization is hosting our 1st annual Awards Gala, we are honoring indivduals and small businesses that are giving back to the community, we also have a wonderful lineup of artists, presenters. This is a formal, red carpet awards show. The PR will be responsible for developing and implementing programs to raise visibility for the Artists Rock the MIC via media placements, key audiences via electronic publications, Web content and social media. Additional writing duties in support of the Artists Rock the MIC Communications team may include Web features, event invitations, electronic news and other collateral. This volunteer position will become a paid position to the right canadate after a 4 month review.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Develop, review, and enhance content for print, electronic and social media to communicate information to members, volunteers, and parents
* Maintain clear, inspiring and upbeat voice for newsletters, brochures, Web content, annual report and more
* Develop and implement PR strategies
* Generate news releases and communicate to media vendors
* Prep and provide talking points to appropriate staff, for interviews across all media formats
* Track, monitor and evaluate PR strategies and media impressions
* Build and expand media contacts and raise visibility of foundation in the community
* Assist with crisis communication strategies and respond to sensitive issue inquiries as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:
* Experience in Communication, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field desired
* Experience in professional writing or field related to writing and/or public relations
* Possess expert writing and proofreading skills, with an emphasis on copywriting, technical writing and press releases
* Strong handle of the Associated Press Stylebook
* Highly creative, detail-oriented, accurate, organized, analytical, flexible and able to meet deadlines
* Excellent time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
* Ability to communicate effectively internally and externally, with peer and executive levels

Artists Rock The M-I-C's Foundation mission is to bring artists together from all genres of music and forms of art to impact change in communities across the world. Our primary goal is to bring attention to, and assist the college homeless students.

Artists Rock The M-I-C ( Motivating Individuals in the Communities) Foundation is a non-profit 501c3 The purpose of the organization is to leverage established and creditable talents from the entertainment industry and offer benefit concerts to the public to drive a primary goal of giving back to disparaged members of the community, particularly the college homeless students.

Artists Rock The M-I-C Foundation has established itself as an organization that participates in a variety of different activities to give back to those in need including; 5K charitable races, and collecting 2000 Water Bottles cases for Flint MI, We have partnered with: "I Honor Your Service to America" collecting toiletry items for the VETS, "I Will Survive Inc.," collecting scarves, gas cards and books for current Cancer patients, "Refining Fire Atlanta Inc." collecting school supplies for Foster Care Kids. To date we have served over 6000 people in need and counting, donating time and talents to mentor and perform for audiences that otherwise would not have access to the platform, and supporting the efforts of other organizations in the Metro-Atlanta area and abroad. Our benefit concerts have featured Tony Terry (National Recording Artists), Ken Ford (Violinist), Beth Spangler (The Voice), Ryan Kilgore (Stevie Wonder Saxophone Player), Xavier Lewis (From America's Got Talent) The Black Betty's (T'Pain and Chante Moore Background Vocalist).
