Spanish speaking volunteers are needed to assist in classrooms with students! If you are bilingual and love to work with kids, we could really use your help!
Success Prep Academy is a k-8 charter school that has 75 English Language Learner (ELL) students and our Hispanic community is consistently growing. Many of these wonderful students only speak Spanish and know very little English. Fortunately, we are still able to assist them! We aim to provide small group or 1-on-1 help, translation services and classroom support for all of our students learning a new language. Our Spanish instructors are hard at work providing cirriculum both to teach students English and to support them as the learn in Spanish. Volunteers are needed to assist instructors.
Duties vary but may include: help students complete assignments in class, translate homework and tests, assist teachers with interpreting lessons, make phone calls to Spanish speaking families, and overall support the students around the school.
Time commitment is flexible - we will welcome you whenever you are available to help!
No degree needed; must pass a background check and be dependable!

Success Preparatory Academy is a K-8 New Orleans charter school founded in 2009, serving mostly low-income and minority students from across the city. Our mission is to develop college bound students for leadership and lifelong learning. We're focused on closing the achievement gap and providing high quality education to traditionally underserved students. We value trauma-informed approaches, utilize a social-emotional learning curriculum, and offer a wide array of extracurriculars to help us build well-rounded students with horizons that reach beyond the walls of the traditional classroom. We care deeply about our students' life trajectories, so we've built a high school placement program to guide current students and track our graduates to ensure they remain on the path to college.
