Side by Side Companion Volunteers NEEDED!

Are you passionate about helping the mental health community? Are you a caring and compassionate person interested in helping an individual become reconnected to their community?

Become a Side by Side Companion!

What is the Side by Side program?

The purpose of Side by Side is to connect individuals who live with a mental health challenge (also called Program Participants) with "Companions. Through meet-ups, Companion and Program Participant may choose to explore a museum exhibit, catch some rays at the beach, enjoy a visit to a park, visit a local community event, go to a coffee shop, and much more! These pairings offer hope, support, socialization, friendship, motivation, increased self-confidence and connectedness to mental health resources.

Who are our Side by Side volunteers?

Side by Side companions are compassionate and caring people that understand the difference friendship can make in the life of someone with lived experience with mental illness. Companions are:

  • Individuals who are living well in their mental health recovery
  • Family members who have loved ones living with mental health challenges
  • Mental Health champions who share a passion for the Mental Health field.
