Family-friendly fun and activities, food, and music take place after the race inside Clayton High School in celebration of World Down Syndrome Day (3/21). Volunteers are needed along the course, throughout Clayton and U-City, to assist at aid stations, direct traffic and runners, help with registration at the start line, and provide general start/finish line assistance. Time slots will vary. Interested volunteers should contact abigailbeckord@dsagsl.org. Must be 14 years of age or older unless volunteering with an adult.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Down Syndrome Association of Greater St. Louis is to benefit the lives of people with Down syndrome and their families through individual and family support, education, public awareness and advocacy.

Description

What started out as a small group aiming to make a difference has turned in a large, far reaching organization with many of the same core values and goals.

Today the Down Syndrome Association of Greater St. Louis has a membership list of over 3,000 households including 1,800 individuals with Down syndrome. We have three core service areas: Awareness & Advocacy, Education and Family Support.

DSAGSL benefits the lives of people with Down syndrome and their families through a lifetime of support, education and advocacy. We envision a community where all people with Down syndrome can achieve their full potential. We are comprised of families, friends and professionals with this common interest. We know the joys and also understand the challenges of a child born with Down syndrome. We exist as an organization to encourage and support individuals with Down syndrome and their families on this journey.
