About

Visitor Experience Interns will learn about and be responsible for collecting and evaluating visitor data including completing surveys evaluations and timing and tracking research. Interns will also be trained in techniques of informal interpretation for the public spaces of the museum to learn skills to educate guests of all ages about exhibits and natural science topics using hands-on activities.

Interns may also have the opportunity to develop programming, lead tours, and activities for museum guests. They will also work under the supervision of program team staff to gain experience with volunteer trainings and educational material maintenance. Interns acquire not only a wide range of knowledge on a variety of topics, but will also gain experience and skills key to careers in teaching, museums, or the non-profit world, such as program development, informal education techniques for all age groups, and how a museum education department operates.
