We are looking for adult mentors/coaches to help with sharpening our teens basketball skills on the court while also educating them on how to make better choices off the court.

DuCAP FIRE (For Inspiring Romeovilles Elite) is a Basketball & Mentoriship team with a focus on positive life choices and youth empowerment.

"Working with youth on the court to prepare them for the streets"

What is FIRE ?

  • Engages youth’s interests through the sport of basketball

  • Develops leadership skills

  • Encourages teambuilding & organizational strategies

  • Gives youth the understanding of respect, manners and responsibility

  • Addresses the importance of education & community service

  • Helps youth develop positive ways to react to everyday life issues

  • And much, much more


Who benefits from FIRE?

  • Youth ages 12-17 that reside within the ROMEOVILLE area.

  • Parents of registered youth benefit because they have witnessed a positive transformation of attitude & commitment from their child after enrolling in FIRE.

  • The local school districts and the community at large due to the programs investment in academics and community service.

  • Businesses receive a double benefit through sponsorships by helping a child who could not normally afford to participate as well as strengthens ones relationship with the community.

VISION STATEMENT: "To effectively educate & organize neighborhoods to be proactive in alleviating the conditions that put youth at risk within DuPage and Will Counties."

Description

Fulfills its Mission through the Following Methods:

  • Recruiting and organizing local residents to develop and become involved in the promotion of positive youth development activities;
  • Networking with local agencies and organizations to reinforce community involvement;
  • Providing positive role models and constructive activities in order to mold a safer and more productive community;
  • Identifying community needs and concerns and organizing a Neighborhood Action Club to actively respond to them;
  • Supporting the communities in their efforts to alleviate conditions which put youth at risk;
  • Assisting the Neighborhood Action Club in identifying and utilizing available resources;
  • Serving as an advocate on behalf of the Neighborhood Action Club.
