Bridging the Gap (BTG) pairs adults with elementary or middle school students to serve as mentors.
Each mentor meets with his or her student once a week for 30-60 minutes. These meetings typically take place during the child's lunch or during an after school program.
Mentors bring games, crafts, books and activities to do with their student (provided by Family Cornerstones). Most importantly, mentors serve as a positive role model and someone to talk to for the student.

Description
We offer four educational programs to strengthen families with children from prenatal to high school.
Starfish is an in-home parenting program for parents with children age prenatal through five. Starfish is an affiliate of the national, evidence-based Parents as Teachers program.
Bridging the Gap is a one-to-one mentoring program for students in elementary and middle school. Carind adults meet with their designated student once a week from 30-60 minutes for games, crafts, home work help and a positive role-model.
Transitions is a 6-week program for families with children ages 9-14. Transitions increases family communication adn equips students to strengthen their relationship with their parents and resist negative peer pressures.
Inspiring Tomorrow's Leaders Today is a leadership development program for middle school and high school students. Students participate in weekly leadership lessons as well as monthly community service projects, equipping them to become the next generation of leaders and role-models.
