ORGANIZATION: HEAL-Homeless Empowerment through Art and Leadership

  • 13 people are interested

HEAL- Homesless Empowerment through Art & Leadership is a small 501c3 nonprofit that provides opportunities and resources for artistic expression for the homeless population of San Diego. Our goal is to assist in recovery by improving self-confidence, self-worth, and hope for the future. Our Mobile Art Studio travels to homeless communities to provide services right where they are. This allows us to serve multiple areas while recognizing that it's easier for us to travel than it is for them.

So far HEAL has been funded entirely by private donations and fundrasiers. This has been sufficiant for the work we currently do, but prevents growth and the ability to hire employees. We are looking for a Grant Writer who has had success in securing grants and who has experience in researching possible grants.

Description

HEAL is a 501c3 Public Benefit Charity that provides unique opportunities for creative self-expression and personal growth for individuals experiencing homelessness in San Diego. We believe in nurturing creativity to promote change and recovery.

Our Mobile Art Studio travels into several homeless communities to provide supplies and encourage expression in a judgement-free environment. Showing and selling the artwork is an inspiring and empowering experience for many of the artists, as well as an opportunity to earn an income.
