HEAL Drawing
This drawing was done by a homeless youth at an Art in the Park event.

HEAL- Homeless Empowerment through Art & Leadership has a collection of art made by homeless individuals created during our Mobile Art Studio programs. We move between homeless communities, providing resources and opportunities for art making and creative expression. Our goal is to assist in recovery by improving self-confidence, self-worth, and hope for the future.

We would like to have high-quality photographs of about 80 pieces. The photographs will be used in art sales, on social media, and promotion of the artists & organization. This can be a one-time or ongoing volunteer opportunity if you would be interested in photographing several new pieces per month.

I would love this project to be completed anytime before 2/25/2016.

Mission Statement

HEAL’s mission is to empower homeless youth and young adults with a strong focus on art and building entrepreneurial skills. By cultivating values of creativity, work ethic, and leadership in a safe, inclusive space, HEAL will provide opportunities for personal growth, as well as the tools needed to combat the hardships which coincide with being homeless to make meaningful and positive changes in their lives.

Description

HEAL is a 501c3 Public Benefit Charity that provides unique opportunities for creative self-expression and personal growth for individuals experiencing homelessness in San Diego. We believe in nurturing creativity to promote change and recovery.

Our Mobile Art Studio travels into several homeless communities to provide supplies and encourage expression in a judgement-free environment. Showing and selling the artwork is an inspiring and empowering experience for many of the artists, as well as an opportunity to earn an income.
