Horse experience is not required for all positions. You must be 14 yrs old to volunteer. Some of the many volunteer opportunities include: Side walker, horse leader, barn projects, Eagle Scout projects, horse show, and fundraising events.
Classes are held Monday, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays 3:00-9:00. At least two hours a week for a 6-week session.

Description
Northland Therapeutic Riding Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that focuses on improving the quality of life of children and adults with special needs through equine-oriented therapy and activities. At NTRC, therapeutic riding instructors, volunteers, riders, and horses are partners in the equine-assisted therapeutic process.
Individuals with a wide range of physical, emotional, and learning challenges can benefit from work with the horse. Equine-assisted activities have been shown to improve balance, posture, muscle tone, coordination, and motor development as well as emotional well-being. It's also fun!
Northland Therapeutic Riding Center now has it’s own home located in a picturesque setting with 32 acres just 23 miles north of Kansas City, Mo. The serenity and peacefulness of this location is very conducive to the goals of the program, and provides a nurturing and strengthening environment.
