Mended Little Hearts Philadelphia Region is a nonprofit organization based in the Philadelphia area that provides hope and support to families and children with congenital heart defects. We are one chapter of the National Organization, The Mended Hearts, Inc. As a national organization, we are able to help hundreds of thousands of cardiac patients, young and old every year.

Some of the services we currently provide are:

  • Bravery Bag deliveries to Cardiac Center families at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP)

  • Emergency bags containing necessities for families arriving via emergency transport to The Cardiac Center at CHOP

  • A Bravery Chest containing toys for children awaiting outpatient center visits

  • Angel Box program for families who lose a child to congenital heart defects (CHD) and outreach by our Angel Coordinator

  • Patient and family hospital visits for peer-to-peer support purposes

  • Patient and caregiver educational sessions on topics pertinent to CHD families

  • Monthly catered lunches in the Ronald McDonald Parent Room at the Cardiac Center at CHOP

  • Holiday toy drive to benefit the families at The Cardiac Center at CHOP

  • Family Events for peer-to-peer support including our free annual picnic for CHD families

Mended Little Hearts Philadelphia Region is hosting the 3 nd Annual Taste the HEART of Philly on June 9, 2017 at the Merion Tribute House in Merion Station, PA. This event aims to bring together our local families and caregivers for a fun night of dinner, dancing, raffles and auctions while raising money for Mended Little Hearts Philadelphia Region to continue to provide support and education for families caring for a child with a congenital heart defect.
