The Western Neuropathy Group develops support groups for people with neuropathy in California, Nevda, and Oregon. These meet monthly except December and one or two summer months if thwy xhoose to do so. The Leadership Team plans the meetings, books speakers as works best for them and gives encouragement to the people who come with an upbeat approach. It is not a pity party or a gossip session. Training materials and ongoing help is given. It is a network so people don't feel alone nor do leaders.
The Eureka group met fosr several years but has not for several years now due to not haviing a person(s) who could be the Leader or Leadership Team. There are some who would help.

Mission Statement
Hope through caring and education - Our mission is to provide support, information and referral to people with neuropathy and to those who care about them, to inform and connect with the health care community and to support research. We need people to serve as group leaders in many communities in the Western States west of the Rocky Mountains.
Description
We are a California Non Profit Public Benefit Corporation which IRS deems to be tax exempt. We major in starting and developing support groups for people with peripheral neuropathy and those who care about them. In the process we endeavor to make connections with the health care community to better serve our members and to inform the health care community about "this mst common disease you've never heard of." With approximately 2 million people in California suffering from neuropathy, it is amazing how many people have never heard about it. Many know someone with the symptoms but may not know there is a name for this. We are led by a Board of Directors now numbering 6. These people have a variety of skills and contually upgrade the organization.
